Vietnam departure

  1. Go to the passport checkpoint.
  2. Walk to the Vietnamese customs building.
    1. Inside the building, walk past the offices on the right
    2. Walk through the hallway past the metal detectors
    3. Go to the rear of the building where the Entry and Exit booths are
    4. Get your exit stamp at the Exit counter on the right
    5. If you ordered a visa extension, send a photo of the exit stamp to us.

Crossing to Laos

  1. Exit the building toward Laos and present your passport at the Vietnam immigration checkpoint

Laos processing

  1. If your passport is not visa free for Laos, go to the central office to get your Laos visa.
    1. Bring 1,500,000 VND and one passport photo for a 1 day sticker visa (cash only)
  2. Go to the Laos Entry booth and present your passport.
    1. In some cases, if you say you are doing a visa run, the officer may give you an entry stamp immediately and let you skip the entry process
  3. Go to the Laos Exit booth.

Return to Vietnam

  1. Walk back to the Vietnam Entry and Exit area at point 2.
  2. Wait for your Vietnam visa from us.
  3. When received, present your visa at the Entry booth.
  4. Walk back to the car.

Final note

  • At some exit and entry booths, officers may request 50,000 to 100,000 VND
  • You are not required to pay this
  • These instructions apply only if you are eligible to enter Laos and re-enter Vietnam with a valid visa.
